Steak and Pepper Hoagies

Build one of your favorites right in your kitchen … this hearty sandwich beats the deli any day.


This recipe is recommended for 4 servings


  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups thinly sliced onions
  • 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 (15-ounce) package HORMEL® Sliced Roast Beef & Gravy Entree
  • 1/2 cup spreadable cream cheese
  • 4 hoagie buns or crusty bread rolls, split and toasted
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste


  1. In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add onions, bell pepper, salt and black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until onions are softened and browned.
  2. Heat beef according to package directions. Slice beef; reserve au jus.
  3. Spread cream cheese on cut sides of buns. Add beef and onion mixture. Serve with reserved au jus.
