  • 1 (3.5-ounce) package HORMEL® Pepperoni
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup sliced olives, if desired
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 6 slices bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

Step-by-Step

  1. In 1 1/2- to 2-quart casserole, layer pepperoni, onion, mushrooms, olives, cheese and bread cubes.

  2. In bowl, beat together eggs, milk and cayenne; pour over bread cubes. Drizzle with butter. Cover; refrigerate 2 to 24 hours.

  3. Heat oven to 375°F. Bake strata 50 to 60 minutes.
