Ingredients

  • 2 (9-ounce) packages frozen cut green beans
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 (12-ounce) can SPAM® Classic 7 oz., cut into strips
  • 1 teaspoon vinegar
  • 1 pinch pepper

Directions

  1. In medium saucepan, cook beans in salted water according to package directions until crisply-tender. Remove beans; drain cooking liquid, reserving 2/3 cup.
  2. In same saucepan, sauté onion in butter, stirring frequently, until transparent. Blend in flour until smooth; stir in reserved cooking liquid. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until mixture thickens and boils.
  3. Mix sour cream into saucepan until smooth. Add SPAM® Classic, beans, vinegar and pepper; mix well. Cook, stirring constantly, until heated thoroughly.
