Ingredients

This recipe is recommended for 4 servings
  • 1 teaspoon plus 1 tablespoon cornstarch, divided
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon plus 1 tablespoon soy sauce, divided
  • 1 teaspoon plus 1 tablespoon water, divided
  • 1/2 teaspoon plus 1/4 cup sugar, divided
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 packages Hormel® Always Tender® Original Flavor Pork Tenderloin, cut into 1-inch strips
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium carrot, cut diagonally into thin slices
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1 (8.25-ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained
  • 1/4 cup white vinegar
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 2 green onions, cut into 2-inch pieces
  • Hot, cooked rice

Directions

  1. In bowl, combine 1 teaspoon cornstarch, the salt, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, 1 teaspoon water, 1/2 teaspoon sugar and the garlic; mix well. Stir in pork. Cover; refrigerate 20 minutes.
  2. Heat wok or electric skillet; add oil, rotating to coat side of pan. Add pork; stir-fry until pork is no longer pink. Stir in carrot and broth. Cover; cook 1 minute. Stir in pineapple.
  3. In small bowl, combine remaining 1/4 cup sugar, the vinegar and remaining 1 tablespoon soy sauce; stir into pork mixture. Bring to a boil.
  4. In small bowl, whisk together remaining 1 tablespoon cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water; stir into pork mixture. Cook, stirring, until thickened. Add bell pepper and onions; cook, stirring constantly, 1 minute. Serve over hot rice.
