This recipe is recommended for 6 servings
1/2 cup wild rice, rinsed thoroughly
2 carrots, shredded
2 celery stalks, thinly sliced
1 onion, chopped
5 1/2 cups water
2 tablespoons Herb-Ox® Chicken Instant Powder
1 cup milk
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 (10-ounce) cans Valley Fresh® White Chicken 3 oz., drained and shredded
Slivered almonds
Directions
In large slow cooker, combine all ingredients except milk, flour and chicken; cover. Cook on LOW setting 4 hours or until wild rice is tender.
Just before serving, in small bowl, combine milk and flour; mix well. Slowly stir into soup. Add chicken; cook and stir 5 minutes or until slightly thickened and heated thoroughly.
Ladle soup into bowls. Sprinkle with almonds, if desired.
