Ingredients

This recipe is recommended for 4 servings
  • 1 (12-ounce) can SPAM® Classic, grated
  • 3/4 cup Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island salad dressing, divided
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, split
  • Sauerkraut, if desired
  • Pickles, if desired

Directions

  1. Heat broiler.
  2. In bowl, combine SPAM® Classic, breadcrumbs, egg and 1/4 cup dressing; mix gently. Shape into 4 (4-inch) patties.
  3. Broil burgers 4 to 6 inches from heat source 3 to 4 minutes on each side or to desired doneness. During last 2 minutes of broiling, sprinkle cheese on patties.
  4. Spread remaining 1/4 cup dressing on cut sides of buns. Place burgers in buns. Top with sauerkraut and pickles, if desired.
