  • 4 slices country-style bread
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 slices Hormel® Natural Choice® Oven Roasted Deli Turkey
  • 4 slices Provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup Peloponnese® Roasted Florina Sweet Pepper Strips, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons mayonnaise

Notes

  1. You'll find panini ("little breads") in sandwich shops all over Italy. They're traditionally assembled with meat, cheese, vegetables and mayonnaise, then grilled until crispy on the outside and warmed on the inside. If you don't have a panini maker, you can use a sandwich grill, waffle iron or nonstick skillet. Cook sandwich 3 to 4 minutes on each side, pressing gently with a spatula or the back of another skillet.

Directions

  1. Heat panini maker or stove-top panini grill according to manufacturer's directions.
  2. Brush 1 side of 2 slices bread with oil. Place bread, oil-side-down, on clean surface.
  3. Top each oiled slice bread with 3 slices turkey, 2 slices cheese and 2 tablespoons roasted peppers. Spread 1 teaspoon mayonnaise on each remaining slice bread. Place on top of sandwiches. Brush tops of sandwiches with oil.
  4. Grill sandwiches in panini maker 3 to 5 minutes or until bread is browned and cheese is melted.
