Ingredients

This recipe is recommended for 4 servings
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 2 cups sliced mixed mushrooms
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 (1-pound) Italian bread shell, such as BOBOLI®
  • 1/2 (16-ounce) jar CHI-CHI'S® 16 oz Thick & Chunky Salsa Medium
  • 1/4 pound chorizo sausage, browned and drained
  • 1 cup sliced cherry tomatoes
  • 2 CHI-CHI'S® Green Jalapenos Whole, cut lengthwise into strips
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • Chopped fresh cilantro

Notes

  1. To make individual pizzas: Four 4-ounce premade pizza crust can be substituted for the larger size. Top each premade pizza crust with 1/4 of each ingredient. Prepare and grill as directed.

Directions

  1. Preheat grill for medium indirect heat.
  2. In medium skillet, sauté onion, mushrooms and garlic in oil over medium-high heat until tender.
  3. Place bread shell on large baking sheet. Spread with salsa. Top evenly with chorizo, mushroom mixture, tomatoes and jalapeños. Sprinkle with cheese.
  4. Slide pizza off baking sheet onto center of grill. Grill 15 to 20 minutes until cheese is melted and pizza is crispy and golden brown on bottom. Sprinkle with cilantro.
