  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon Mexican oregano
  • 3 pounds boneless pork roast, trimmed and cut into large chunks
  • 1 pound dried pinto beans, rinsed
  • 1 (16-ounce) jar HERDEZ® Salsa Verde
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 (4.25-ounce) can diced green chiles, drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Shredded lettuce
  • HERDEZ® salsa casera


  1. In bowl, combine chili powder, cumin and oregano; mix well. Rub spice mixture over pork roast.
  2. In slow cooker, combine seasoned pork roast, beans, salsa verde, broth, chiles and garlic; mix well. Cover; cook on HIGH setting 6 to 8 hours or until pork is tender.
  3. Remove pork roast from slow cooker; shred pork. Return pork to slow cooker. Cook covered until thickened. Serve mixture on tostada shells or in tortillas. Top with lettuce and HERDEZ® salsa casera.
