Ingredients

This recipe is recommended for 4 servings
  • 1 (8-ounce) package sour cream
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 2 teaspoons HERB-OX® Beef Instant Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, divided
  • 1 pound boneless beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips and divided
  • 1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced onion
  • 2 cups hot, cooked egg noodles

Directions

  1. In small bowl, combine first 6 ingredients; mix well.
  2. Meanwhile, in large skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium-high heat. Add half of beef. Cook, stirring frequently, 3 to 5 minutes or until desired doneness; drain. Remove from skillet.
  3. In same skillet, melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter. Add remaining half of beef, the mushrooms and onion. Cook, stirring frequently, 5 to 8 minutes or until tender and desired doneness; drain.
  4. Return reserved beef to skillet. Stir in sour cream mixture. Cook, stirring constantly, 2 to 3 minutes or until thickened and bubbly. Serve over hot egg noodles.
